The Vedic Counselor

Ayurveda is the thousands of years old system of natural medicine from India. A sister science to yoga, the goal of Ayurveda is to achieve balance and health – beyond the absence of disease. Mary Roberson, Ph.D., conducts Ayurvedic consultations to identify imbalances along with the underlying behaviors, dietary, or environmental causes that might be giving rise to the symptoms. She will then make dietary, lifestyle, herbal recommendations to activate the natural intelligence of the body in order to restore balance.

Dr. Roberson is a Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner through the National Ayurvedic Medicine Association. She has studied Ayurveda since her graduate school days, including the Ayurvedic approach to psychological concerns, taking courses of study with three schools: Wise Earth School of Ayurveda (Bri. Maya Tiwari), Ayurvedic Institute (Dr. Vasant Lad) and the Maharishi Vedic Medicine program.

Psychotherapy – A Holistic Approach

As a clinical psychologist, Mary Roberson, Ph.D., counsels individuals, couples, and families in life transitions (marriage, divorce, parenting, spiritual concerns, grief, work); health psychology (stress, illness, chronic pain, fatigue, prevention); women’s and men’s issues (relationships, communication); trauma and abuse (emotional, physical, sexual, EMDR); and emotional difficulties (anxiety, anger, depression). Dr. Roberson specializes in working with those who would like a holistic approach that incorporates physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual
concerns into the psychotherapy process. For those interested, she will also integrate natural healing approaches such as Ayurveda. Her approach is complementary with Western medicine, working with you to remove underlying imbalances that give rise to symptoms and diseases. For those who qualify, most insurance is accepted.
